The Choral Leadership Program puts students in front of students as mentors, musicians, and leaders.
7th graders: Students in 7th grade choir who have demonstrated commitment to the choral program and show potential may, beginning second semester, get to practice leadership as assistant section leaders in sixth grade chorus. There are a limited number of assistant spots, however, students not selected for assistant positions are still considered for 8th grade officer positions.
ALL 8th grade students are expected to be leaders and role models for the choir. 8th grade students who have demonstrated exceptional skills may be selected to participate in the program as Choir Officers. Officers have demonstrated outstanding commitment to the choir program, strong musicianship, leadership ability, and community-mindedness- the ability to think about and put first the needs of the group and the people around them. Students may have more than one job. All positions are assigned at the director's discretion and may be taken away if students do not perform their responsibilities adequately.
