For most middle school students, Ms Alberts does not recommend voice lessons. Students who are very excited about singing are encouraged to join the choral program and the musical. Most voice teachers will not even take middle school students, though Ms A does know a few.
Ms Alberts herself, like all Newton teachers, cannot teach anyone privately who could be one of her students, which includes ALL Newton students in 8th grade or below. And once in high school, Ms A recommends students take voice lessons, which she does not offer.
For students in 9th grade and above (who are NOT in Troubadours), she does occasionally offer vocal coaching. That's not the same as voice lessons, which is what she recommends. Voice lessons will improve your vocal technique. Vocal coaching can only help you showcase the technique you already possess.
